I have decided to go back to school. And I stupidly decided that I could handle full-time school with full-time work. I thought, "whatever, it's the summer semester, so laid-back. And I work 12-hour shifts, so really I only work 3 days a week, sure I can do it. And anyway, even if it sucks, it's only for like 10 weeks!"
So, you know in Napoleon Dynamite, the part where he slaps his head and says "freakin' IDIOT!" That's pretty much the conversation I have with myself on a daily basis.
And you should see my bathroom sink. I think the film of toothpaste is almost a half-inch thick. Because when I'm not in class, studying, or at work, I'm... Well. That's pretty much all I do.
I just took vacation to Florida! I thought it would be so relaxing and a nice short break from the fray. But while I was there, I completed 2 assignments, took an online midterm, and wrote a 25-page paper.
It will all be over soon, only about 3 1/2 more weeks till summer term is over. And I'll be glad to have these classes out of the way. I'll have a 3-week break, then start again in the fall, at which time I'll decrease my hours at work to only one day a week. I cannot wait for that day!!
So, that's why I've been AWOL. I don't even have time to vacuum.

so that feeling you have of not having enough time and having way to much to do...? do yourself a favor and just accept that feeling now because that is how grad school feels! no matter how little you work, how few extracurricular activities you have, you will never have enough time while you are in school! it's a beautiful thing. i can say that now, because i somehow survived it. you will too. and you will find hidden strengths and reserve you never knew you had! keep up the good work, sister! it is all worth it in the end!

You are doing a great job at keeping it all together though! Keep up the hard work, it will all change again someday...hopefully to a slower someday with more free time for you!
